The Del Restaurant & Bar
6565 Del Monte Dr, Houston, TX 77057
A large group of food bloggers took over a local restaurant this past Wednesday. The Houston Food Blogger Collective gathered at The Del Houston on Wednesday for a night of planning, talking, picture taking and off course eating. The group is comprised of over 100 local food bloggers and social media sharers, all together on the same mission; “to connect the city’s food bloggers with each other and the vibrant food scene that surrounds them.”
The Del is a casual chic restaurant located on Del Monte Street, between San Felipe & Westheimer.
The Del offers a tasty new take on classic American cuisine in a “country-club casual” atmosphere that makes exceptional dining not so pretentious.
The restaurant truly has a casual, yet chic aesthetic. From your walk-into the restaurant, to your walk unto the outside patio completely lit with globe string lights. Indoors, you are met with an open-kitchen-bar, and flatscreen TVs to catch the latest game. You can venture out to the patio area(without missing a game) for games(Giant Jenga and Cornhole) or to sit on their outdoor patio sofas and enjoy a glass of wine and conversation.
All the fun took place on the restaurant’s gorgeous shaded patio, where the bloggers threw around some ideas for future opportunities and got to know one another. The Del Chef Albert Vasquez and staff presented the group with a wide array of dishes to taste, which we all gladly indulged and photographed for the world to see. Below you will find my favorite/recommended dishes of the night.
If I had to pick just one to eat, I would go with the Ribeye. I believe it was marinated in wine(don’t quote me on that), and you can taste the juiciness in every bite, the Risotto was creamy and delicious, the cucumber & tomato salad served as a refresher to bring us back down to earth. I recommend it!
