I was recently invited to a new menu launch at one of the fanciest steakhouses in Houston, Fogo De Chao. Being the largest bar menu innovation in their 20-year history, this menu includes all-new Brazilian-inspired cocktails, Brazilian bites and South American wines. We sampled Brazilian bites accompanied by Brazilian inspired cocktails and wines from their new Bar Fogo menu.
We had drinks from their newly expanded caipairinha menu, along with their new appetizers which will offer diverse price points for guests. Most people don’t know this; I, like many of you had Fogo De Chao stashed in the “special occasions” file, for the simple fact that a dinner there can make quite the damage to your bank account if you aren’t careful.
Prior to our amazingly overwhelming dinner there, we tasted items from their bar menu, from sliders, to empanadas and skewers. The empanadas were unbelievable, as were their braised beef rib sliders…I ate both like someone who wasn’t about to have the largest dinning experience ever(including a couple of dessert dishes). I brought my lovely sister Dahlia, as my plus one, and she was also blown out of the park.
We followed the appetizers and cocktails up with the full Churrasco dining experience, complete with their off the fire-roasted meats table-side, market table salads and fruits, side dishes and dessert. They have some of the best flan and tres leches that I’ve tasted in Houston; I feel like you can easily mess up the flan but theirs was hard to put down. This was definitely one for the books, and I would come back anytime…Especially with their new menu, now there’s no excuse!
