I had the pleasure of previewing the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu for Ginger & Fork, a Chinese restaurant in the Heights. Restaurant Owner and Culinary Director, Mary Li, opened Ginger & Fork in order to introduce native Chinese dishes to the inner city dwellers. Ginger & Fork serves exotic dishes influenced by Hong Kong and the Canton provinces, paired with great wines and crafted cocktails.
The restaurant is housed in the used to be location of La Fisheria. The establishment was extended to accommodate more guests and include a patio perfect for the coming season. You’ll have a change to enjoy some cocktails crafted by Li herself and a delicious food menu that’s also vegetarian friendly.
If you dine as a group, like we did, you’ll love their spinning plates(not sure what they’re called) which will make it easy to pass plates around the table in a spin the wheel kind of way. The staff brought out different items from their Houston Restaurant Weeks Brunch, Lunch and Dinner menus for us to try, family-style. You’ll have the option of a 3-course brunch($22) or lunch($20) with $3 going to the Houston Food Bank, or a 4-course dinner($45) with $5 going to the food bank.
Without further a due, here are my recommendations for Houston Restaurant Weeks at Ginger & Fork. Please note, we tasted items from their brunch, lunch and dinner menus and I’ve listed recommendations from each categories.
