First Taste: East Hampton Sandwich Company

The Houston food scene is growing by the minute, so it should come as no surprise that we welcomed a new restaurant with open arms this past Thursday, at the River Oaks District. East Hampton Sandwich Company is a Dallas-born sandwich eatery, serving handcrafted sandwiches, along with additional items that are sure to knock your socks off. What are those “other items” you ask? Well read a little more to find out!

Grand opening day was definitely a party! The East Hampton Sandwich Company team welcomed local bloggers and influencers in an hour before it was open to the public to make sure we could get all of our crazy shots in before the crowd. There was a beautiful balloon installation near the door at the entrance, which drew you in and also pointed out the DJ, who was spinning all evening.

I’m one of the locals who’s been waiting patiently for the restaurant to open since getting a taste of their “Fried Chicken n’ Jack” Sandwich,  lobster rolls and whoopie cookie sandwich at a pop-up they had just a few months ago. Keeping up with their instagram feed and instastories has been quite the tease, but now that they’re open all is good in the neighborhood.

As you walk into the establishment, you’re welcomed by a nice vibrant atmosphere that almost makes you feel like you’ve left Houston for a life at the beach(ohhh if only). You walk-in and go straight to the counter and order. East Hampton Sandwich will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and will have options to have their sandwiches as wraps or salads.

SWEET CHICKEN PARM: Fried chicken breast, shaved pecorino, melted provolone, fresh basil, roasted garlic marinara with a side of potato chips.

I also had an order of their Charlie’s Donuts which come as the original, or filled with strawberry or chocolate. Off course I had to have a whoopie dessert which is a great treat, don’t ask what it is just order it!

If you’re not convinced yet, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott definitely approve! lol
