My blogger friend Mel recently invited me to Love & Make’s candle making workshop in Rice Village. Love and Make is a DIY business, offering fun, interactive, crafting experiences for individuals and groups. The company was officially launched this year by sisters-in-law Amara and Bukola, who merged their passions for crafting and business to create Love & Make.
Everything was planned out for us, from the food, drinks all the way down to the supplies needed for our candles. Amara and Bukola started us off with a presentation, introducing themselves and followed with instructions on what we would be doing. The ladies were there to guide us through each step, but it was all up to us, which made the experience even more fun and memorable. They explained the different types of candles available, oils etc. and allowed us time to craft our masterpiece.
I never really thought much on it, but I happen to really love citrusy scents in candles. Upon sampling a few oils that my nose was naturally drawn to, I decided on my scent. Floral Goddess: Cherry Blossom, Lemon Verbena and Mint.
Their workshops are open to the public on the weekends at their summer pop-up store located in Rice Village. They can host private events and parties throughout the week, and even travel to you at a specified location.
